Adobe Flex
Adobe Flex is a free open-source framework designed to develop web applications with rich visuals and functionality.
The framework comprises a state-of-the-art development language based on industry-proven standards and a development model designed on the basis of common design patterns.
RIAs developed with the use of Adobe Flex technology are launched in the web browser by means of the Adobe Flash Player plug-in or on the operating system level, provided the Adobe AIR integrated runtime environment is installed. Such an approach ensures that the application runs seamlessly regardless of the operating system or the web browser.
Adobe AIR
Adobe AIR is a multiplatform runtime environment designed to create classic window-based applications with the use of tools typically used for creating web solutions. Such an approach allows to reduce costs, risk and time necessary to develop software in the case complex solutions are deployed. These features were noticed by corporations all over the world, and the examples of major implementation projects include eBay, AOL, NASDAQ, resulting in real business benefits.
Experience in technologies
We develop RIAs with the use of the following technologies:
- Red5
- audio/video streaming - integration with custom stream providers (JCR, NFS)
- remoting (RPC)
- remote shared objects / server push
- clustering (custom scaling framework)
- on-the-fly stream modifications (ffmpeg/xuggler)
- integration with VoIP (Asterisk)
- LiveCycle Data Services;
- Blaze DS;
- AMFPHP;
- Adobe Flex/AIR
-
- MVC frameworks:
- Cairngorm
- Glenmore
- modular applications
- dynamic (runtime) resource bundles
- dynamic styles (runtime CSS)
- advanced skinning
- Blaze DS integration
- WebServices
Glenmore
Glenmore is a framework designed to ease RIA development with the use of Flash/Flex technology. It includes implementations of many useful design patterns and the MVC model, which are frequently used for business applications.
Glenmore solves many problems caused by limitations imposed by other MVC frameworks, such as Cairngorm or PureMVC, in which patterns such as FrontController or ServiceLacator are implemented on the basis of the Singleton pattern. Glenmore is a context-based framework, and therefore it is easy to develop even the most complex and modular applications.
In the near future we plan to publish Glenmore together with the source code as an Open Source solution.
